Knessetil

A public civic interface for exploring Israeli Knesset data, parliamentary activity, statistical metrics and comparisons.

The Premise

The official Knesset information is broad and difficult to scan, compare and understand as one coherent picture.

Overview

A public civic project for making Israeli parliamentary data easier to explore. Knessetil brings together member profiles, factions, parliamentary activity, statistical metrics and side-by-side comparisons in one interface.

The interface is available publicly at knesset.bersaglio.work.

The need

Knesset data is public, but the official information is broad and spread across different views and datasets. It is not always easy to scan activity, compare elected representatives or understand what a number actually measures.

Product experience

Visitors can browse members of Knesset, factions and historical Knesset information; search and filter bills, questions and agenda initiatives; compare members; and sort members or factions by individual activity metrics. The project treats metrics as specific measurements rather than a single quality score.

Data and transparency

The project uses the Knesset’s official public OData API. Data is synchronized automatically several times a day, then validated and processed for the site’s views. The project documents its sources, methodology, limitations and correction process, and distinguishes source data from calculated metrics.

Knessetil is an independent public initiative, not an official Knesset website. It is not operated, funded or approved by the Knesset, a government office, party, faction or candidate, and its metrics are provided for information and comparison rather than as political recommendations.
